How It Works

Marine cover in four steps.

01

Risk Assessment

We assess your cargo type, trade routes, vessel specifications, shipment frequency and commercial terms (Incoterms) to identify your precise risk exposure.

02

Policy Structuring

We structure a policy — single voyage, open cover or annual hull — with appropriate Institute Clauses, war extension and specific endorsements for your trade and commodities.

03

Market Placement

We approach UAE and Lloyd's market insurers simultaneously to obtain competitive quotations, then present you with clearly compared options.

04

Claims Advocacy

In the event of a loss, our marine claims team appoints surveyors, manages documentation, liaises with average adjusters and pushes for prompt settlement.

Marine Insurance FAQs

Common questions about marine cover.

It depends on your Incoterms. Under CIF or CIP terms, the seller is responsible for providing insurance. Under EXW, FOB or CFR terms, the risk transfers to you at the point of loading and you are responsible for insuring the cargo. We review your trade contracts and advise on the appropriate cover structure.

An open cover is an annual marine cargo policy that automatically covers all shipments declared under it — without requiring a new policy for each voyage. It is ideal for businesses with regular import or export activity, providing consistency of cover, simplified administration and often better premium rates than individual voyage policies.

Yes. Marine cargo insurance can be extended to cover the complete transit from origin warehouse to destination — including inland road, rail and air segments as well as the sea voyage. This "warehouse to warehouse" cover is standard for most modern marine cargo policies.

Yes. UAE ports including Jebel Ali, Port Rashid, Khalifa Port and Sharjah ports are covered under standard marine cargo policies. Cover typically extends from the time goods leave the seller's warehouse, through all transit stages, to delivery at the buyer's warehouse in the UAE.
