Your return cycle, fully managed.
Data Collection
At the start of each filing period, we issue a data request — sales and purchase listings, bank statements, expense schedules and any transactions requiring special treatment. We work with your accounting software to extract this efficiently.
Preparation & Review
Our tax team prepares the return, applying correct VAT treatment to each transaction type, reconciling totals to your ledger and identifying any items requiring clarification or special handling before the return is finalised.
Client Sign-off
We present the completed return with a clear summary of the liability position, key transactions and any advisory points — giving you full visibility before we submit. Your approval is required before filing.
Filing & Confirmation
We submit via EmaraTax and provide you with the filed return confirmation. Any subsequent FTA queries are handled by our team — and we retain all working papers for audit purposes.
Questions about UAE tax return filing.
The FTA imposes a penalty of AED 1,000 for the first late VAT return and AED 2,000 for each subsequent late return within 24 months. Additional penalties apply for late payment of VAT due — typically 2% of unpaid tax immediately, rising to 4% monthly. These penalties accumulate rapidly, making timely filing critical. Gulf Oasis tracks all deadlines on your behalf.
Errors in filed returns should be corrected through an FTA voluntary disclosure — a formal correction mechanism that attracts reduced penalties compared to FTA-initiated assessments. Where the net error is below AED 10,000, corrections can be included in the next return rather than a formal disclosure. We review all historical returns and advise on the best corrective approach for your situation.
UAE corporate tax returns are due within nine months of the end of the taxpayer's financial year. For businesses with a 31 December year-end, this means a 30 September filing deadline for the prior year. Corporate tax payment is also due by the same deadline. We calculate your specific deadlines at onboarding and track them on your behalf throughout the year.
Yes. We can work from incomplete or unreconciled books — but the quality of the return is directly dependent on the quality of the underlying records. We always recommend engaging our accounting team to bring your books fully up to date before each filing period. If there are backlogs, we can often address both simultaneously to meet your statutory deadlines.
Never miss a filing deadline again.
